Please contact the Public Safety Committee Chair, Senator Lonnie Paxton to request HB1770 be scheduled for a hearing. In addition, please contact the other members of the Public Safety Committee to request support of the bill and why you like to ride bikes through their districts. Below you will find a list of committee members. If you reach out to Senator Darrell Weaver, tell him thank you for authoring this bill.
As a refresher, HB1770 includes:
- Allow people on bikes to treat stop signs as yields and red lights as stop signs;
- Update hand signals so that a person on a bike can lawfully use a right hand to signal;
- A motorized vehicle cannot honk at a person on a bike when there is no immediate danger.
