HomeAlliance for Biking & Walking

Dear Oklahoma Bicycling Coalition,

Thank you for your membership in theAlliance for Biking & Walking! We're so glad and grateful that you've chosen to be part of our powerful — and growing — coalition.

As a member of the Alliance, you're connected to advocates across North America who are making their communities better places to bike and walk. You have access to the expertise of Alliance staff and dozens of other bike/ped leaders. And, by taking advantage of the Alliance's trainings, grants, coaching and numerous other resources, your organization will grow stronger and your campaigns will become more effective.

Here are just a few Alliance highlights from 2013:

  • We brought Winning Campaigns Trainings to 150 leaders in six communities across North America, helping launch successful local campaigns for better biking and walking
  • TheAdvocacyAdvanceprogram hit the $100 million mark for public funding leveraged as a result of workshops, grants and technical assistance provided since 2011
  • We held the first-ever National Open Streets Training to train 55 community and advocacy leaders on launching new Open Streets initiatives in their towns
  • On over 30 Mutual Aid conference calls, we shared knowledge on essential topics like fundraising, membership, policies and education with nearly 900 advocacy leaders

Our mission is simple: We serve the needs of local and state bicycle and pedestrian advocates, like you. So we welcome and encourage your input on how we can best boost your organization. We hope you'll get engaged in our diverse programming and, by sharing your experiences and insight, advance our movement across North America.

If you have any questions about your membership or Alliance programs, please don't hesitate to contact me. And, again, thank you for your membership in the Alliance for Biking & Walking. You are the spark that propels our People Powered Movement!
